December doldrums

It's yet another gray December day. Feels a little grayer than usual, because of my ongoing recovery from several days of a strep throat infection. It's been years since I felt that ill. But the Lord pulled me through, and Sonia took great care of me. Mom made some of her classic potato soup that she always made when we were little and not-feeling-well, so that definitely was a throwback to the old days. Pleasant.

"Great is thy faithfulness" - this old hymn came back to me once or twice during the illness. "All I have needed, they hand hath provided" - Even in sickness, great trials, God knows what we need. How comforting. Just lay there, be peacable, knowing that He's in control.
